Tales by Charles Perrault
Cinderella is one of the most famous fairy tales around the world. A huge number of cartoons and feature films have been shot based on this tale. The Cinderella fairy tale is a masterpiece of its genre. A very original plot, full of magic, beauty and justice. Many little girls dream of being in the place of Cinderella - after all, the fate of this kind, honest and hardworking girl, although difficult, is nevertheless noble. Poor Cinderella, who was humiliated and exploited by her stepmother and her daughters, at one fine moment, thanks to the good fairy godmother, who with the help of a magic wand made her a carriage with lackeys, a beautiful dress and crystal shoes, gets to a chic ball, where she charms everyone with her beauty , grace and grace. The young prince falls in love with Cinderella. The next day, Cinderella again gets to the ball, but is forgotten and at the appointed time barely has time to run out of the castle, shortly before the magic spells subside (and this happens at 12 o'clock at night). In a hurry, she drops one of her crystal shoes and hides in an unknown direction. Stunned and in love, the prince wants to find Cinderella by all means, even if for this it is necessary to measure all female feet in the whole kingdom in order to find the one that will fit this crystal shoe. So we found Cinderella - when she tried on a crystal shoe, she was just right for her. And when she took out and put on a second, the same, there was no longer any doubt. The stepmother and her daughters were in shock, and the prince and Cinderella were in joy, they played a wedding and lived happily ever after, in love and harmony.
Once upon a time there was a rich and distinguished man. His wife died, and he married a second time to such a heartless, proud woman that you will not find anymore. She had two daughters, who looked like their mother in every way - the same arrogant wicked. And my husband had a daughter extremely meek and affectionate, all like his deceased mother, the kindest woman in the world. Cinderella planted a nut twig on her mother's grave, which grew into a beautiful walnut tree. Cinderella often came to her mother's grave and complained about how hard it was for her.
The stepmother immediately showed her evil disposition. She was annoyed by the kindness of her stepdaughter - next to this sweet girl, her own daughters seemed even more disgusting.
The poor girl endured everything and was afraid to complain to her father - he would only scold her, because he obeyed his new wife in everything. After finishing work, the poor girl huddled in a corner near the hearth and sat right on the ash,
Once the king's son decided to hold a ball and summoned all the noble people in the kingdom to it. The Cinderella sisters were also invited. How happy they were, how they fussed about choosing their outfits and jewelry! And Cinderella only had more work: she had to iron skirts and starch collars for her sisters.
The sisters talked endlessly about how to dress better.
I, - said the elder, - will put on a red velvet dress with lace ...
And I, - the youngest interrupted her, I will put on an ordinary dress. But on top I'll throw a cape with gold flowers and diamond clasps. Not everyone has such a thing!
They ordered caps with double frills for the best craftswoman, bought the most expensive ribbons. And in everything they asked for advice from Cinderella, because she had very good taste. She wholeheartedly tried to help the sisters and even offered to comb their hair. To this they graciously agreed.
Admit it, Cinderella, would you really like to go to the ball?
Ah, sisters, do not laugh at me! Will they let me go there?
Yes, really! Everyone would have rolled with laughter if they saw such a dirty trick at the ball.
Another would have deliberately combed them worse for this, but Cinderella, out of her kindness, tried to comb them as best as possible.
For two days the sisters did not eat anything for joy and excitement, tried to tighten their waists and kept turning in front of the mirror.
Finally the desired day has come. The sisters went to the ball, and the stepmother said before leaving:
So I sprinkled a bowl of lentils in the ash. Pick her while we're at the ball.
And she left. Cinderella looked after them for a long time. When their carriage disappeared from sight, she wept bitterly.
Cinderella's aunt saw that the poor girl was crying and asked why she was so upset.
I would like ... I would like ... - from tears Cinderella could not finish.
But the aunt guessed herself (she was a sorceress):
You would like to go to the ball, right?
Oh yes! - Cinderella answered with a sigh.
Do you promise to be obedient in everything? - asked the sorceress. - Then I'll help you go to the ball. - The sorceress hugged Cinderella and said to her: - Go to the garden and bring me a pumpkin.
Cinderella ran into the garden, chose the best pumpkin and took it to the sorceress, although she could not understand how this pumpkin would help her get to the ball.
The sorceress hollowed out the pumpkin to the very top, then touched it with a magic wand, and the pumpkin instantly turned into a gilded carriage.
Then the sorceress looked into the mousetrap and saw that there were six live mice sitting there.
She told Cinderella to open the door of the mousetrap. Each mouse that jumped out of there, she touched with a magic wand, and the mouse immediately turned into a beautiful horse.
The sorceress thought:
Where to get a coachman?
I'll go and see if a rat has got into the rat trap, - said Cinderella. “You can make a coachman out of a rat.
Right! - agreed the sorceress. - Go and see.
Cinderella brought a rat trap with three large rats.
The sorceress chose one, the largest and most mustachioed, touched it with her wand, and the rat turned into a fat coachman with a magnificent mustache.
Then the sorceress said to Cinderella:
Six lizards are sitting behind a watering can in the garden. Go get them for me.
Before Cinderella had time to bring the lizards, the sorceress turned them into six servants, dressed in livery embroidered with gold. They so deftly jumped on the heels of the carriage, as if they had not been doing anything else all their lives.
Well, now you can go to the ball, - said the sorceress to Cinderella. - Are you satisfied?
I was given the task to choose a bowl of lentils from the ash, how can I go to the ball?
The sorceress waved her wand. And two white doves flew to the kitchen window, and behind them a turtle dove, and finally all the birds of the Middle Kingdom came and flew away and sank on the ash. The doves tilted their heads and began to peck: knock-knock-knock-knock, and after them the rest too.
Of course! But how am I going to go in such a nasty dress?
The sorceress touched Cinderella with her wand, and the old dress instantly turned into an outfit of gold and silver brocade, richly embroidered with precious stones.
Lavishly dressed, Cinderella sat down in the carriage. At parting, the sorceress strictly ordered her to return before the clock struck midnight.
If you stay even a minute longer, ”she said,“ your carriage will become a pumpkin again, horses will turn into mice, servants into lizards, and your luxuriant outfit into an old dress.
Cinderella promised the sorceress to leave the palace before midnight and, beaming with happiness, went to the ball.
Silence fell immediately in the hall: the guests stopped dancing, the violinists stopped playing - so everyone was amazed at the beauty of the unknown princess.
Even the old king himself could not look at her and kept repeating in the queen's ear that he had not seen such a beautiful and sweet girl for a long time.
And the ladies carefully examined her outfit, so that tomorrow they would order for themselves exactly the same, they were only afraid that they would not find enough rich fabrics and sufficiently skilled craftswomen.
The prince escorted her to the most honorable place and invited her to dance. She danced so well that everyone admired her even more.
And she went to her sisters, spoke to them affably and shared the oranges that the prince treated her to.
The sisters were very surprised at such a courtesy from the unknown princess.
In the midst of the conversation, Cinderella suddenly heard that the clock struck three quarters of eleven. She quickly said goodbye to everyone and hastened to leave.
Returning home, she first of all ran to the good sorceress, thanked her and said that she would like to go to the ball again tomorrow - the prince very much asked her to come.
While she was telling the sorceress about everything that happened at the ball, there was a knock on the door - the sisters had arrived. Cinderella went to open them.
How long have you been at the ball! she said, rubbing her eyes and stretching as if she had just woken up.
In fact, since they broke up, she hasn't felt like sleeping at all.
If you had attended the ball, ”said one of the sisters,“ you would have no time to be bored. A princess came there - and how beautiful! No one in the world is more beautiful than her. She was very kind with us, treated us to oranges.
Cinderella trembled all over with joy. She asked what the princess was called, but the sisters replied that no one knew her and the prince was very upset about this. He would give anything to find out who she was.
She must be very beautiful! - Cinderella said smiling. - And you are lucky! How I would like to look at her with at least one eye! .. Dear sister, please lend me your yellow home dress.
Here's another invented! - answered the older sister. - So that I give my dress to such a mess? No way in the world!
Cinderella knew that her sister would refuse her, and was even delighted - what would she do if the sister agreed to give her her dress!
The next day, the Cinderella sisters went to the ball again. Cinderella also went and was even more elegant than the first time. The prince did not leave her and whispered all sorts of pleasantries to her.
Cinderella had a lot of fun, and she completely forgot what the sorceress ordered her. She thought that it was not yet eleven o'clock, when suddenly the clock began to strike midnight. She jumped up and flew away like a bird. The prince rushed after her, but could not catch up with her.
In a hurry, Cinderella lost one of her crystal shoes.
He asked the guards at the gate if anyone had seen where the princess had gone. The guards replied that they saw only how a poorly dressed girl ran out of the palace, looking more like a peasant than a princess.
Cinderella ran home breathless, without a carriage, without servants, in her old dress. Of all the luxury, she only had one crystal shoe.
The sisters replied that she had come, but only when the clock began striking midnight, she rushed to run - so hastily that she dropped a beautiful crystal slipper from her foot. The prince raised his shoe and did not take his eyes off it until the end of the ball. It is evident that he is in love with a beautiful princess - the owner of the shoe.
The sisters told the truth: several days passed - and the prince announced throughout the kingdom that he would marry a girl who would have a crystal slipper on her leg.
First, the shoe was tried on for princesses, then for duchesses, then for all the court ladies in a row. But she was not good for anyone.
They brought a crystal slipper to the Cinderella sisters. They struggled to squeeze a foot into a tiny shoe, but nothing came of it.
Cinderella saw how they tried, recognized her shoe and asked with a smile:
Can I try on a shoe too?
The sisters only made fun of her in response.
But the courtier who came with the shoe looked carefully at Cinderella. He saw how beautiful she was and said that he had been ordered to try on the shoe for all the girls in the kingdom. He sat Cinderella in a chair and barely brought the shoe to her leg, when she put on quite freely.
Then the kind sorceress arrived, touched the old Cinderella dress with her wand, and in front of everyone's eyes it turned into a magnificent outfit, even more luxurious than the previous ones.
That's when the sisters saw who the beautiful princess was who came to the ball! They threw themselves on their knees in front of Cinderella and began to ask for forgiveness for treating her so badly.
Cinderella raised her sisters, kissed them and said that she forgives them and only asks them to always love her.
Then Cinderella in her luxurious outfit was taken to the palace to the prince.
One nobleman, who had a kind, gentle and beautiful daughter, married a very arrogant lady. She had two daughters from her first husband.
The stepmother immediately disliked her stepdaughter and forced her to do the darkest work in the house. The poor girl endured everything patiently and did not complain to her father. One of the half-sisters called her Cinderella, because she sat down to rest right on the ash.
Once the king's son was giving a ball, to which Cinderella's sisters received invitations. She also wanted to go to this ball. But she had nothing to wear and nothing to go there. Then her godmother, who was a good sorceress, came to her aid. She turned a pumpkin into a carriage, mice into horses, lizards into footmen, a rat into a coachman, and an ugly dress into a beautiful ballroom outfit. And she gave her goddaughter a pair of crystal shoes.
At the same time, she warned Cinderella that she should not stay at the ball longer than midnight. Otherwise, all her entourage with the carriage and dress will turn into what they were.
At the ball, the beautiful Cinderella made a great impression on everyone. And the prince himself was delighted with her and immediately fell in love with her. But just before midnight the girl hastened to leave.
The next day there was another ball, to which Cinderella also went. There, the girl was so carried away, communicating with the prince, that she completely forgot about the time. And as soon as midnight began to strike, she had to run away very quickly. At the same time, she lost one of her crystal shoes, which the prince in love immediately picked up. Wanting to find his beloved, he ordered every girl in the kingdom to try it on. He announced that he would marry the one who will have this shoe in time.
The courtier brought the Cinderella sisters to try on the shoe. And when she saw her, she wanted to try it on. Despite the fact that the sisters made fun of her, the courtier gave the girl a shoe and it fit her perfectly. The godmother immediately appeared and turned her dress into a beautiful outfit. Everyone recognized the beauty who ran away from the ball.
The prince married her and everyone lived happily ever after.
“Cinderella” is an instructive tale about a kind, beautiful Cinderella, who, despite the machinations of her evil stepmother and sisters, ended up at the royal ball, won the heart of the prince and became his wife.

Cinderella is a beautiful, very kind and hardworking girl.
Stepmother and sisters - angry, envious, mistreated Cinderella.
The father is a quiet, weak-willed person.
Fairy is a kind sorceress who came to the aid of Cinderella.
The prince is a young handsome youth, very persistent and determined.
Cinderella had a happy life until her mother died. The father grieved, and two years later he married another woman who had her own daughters. The stepmother immediately disliked Cinderella, and forced her to do the dirtiest work around the house, so he always walked in dirty clothes, stained with ash.
Once a ball was to be held in the royal palace, where all the noble inhabitants were invited. The stepmother was very happy - she was going to profitably marry her daughters. Smart and beautiful, they went to the ball, leaving Cinderella to sort out the poppy seeds from millet. The girl cried out of resentment - she also really wanted to get to the ball. At that moment, a good fairy appeared before her, who promised Cinderella to help her grief. She made a wonderful carriage out of a large pumpkin, mice became horses, lizards became footmen, and a rat became a coachman. The fairy turned Cinderella's pathetic rags into a luxurious brocade dress, and presented wonderful shoes. But she sternly warned that the magic will lose its power at exactly midnight.
At the ball everyone was amazed at the beauty of the mysterious stranger. The prince was subdued by Cinderella, and did not leave her a single step. Noticing that it was approaching midnight, she quietly left the palace. The next night, Cinderella also went to the ball with the help of a good fairy. But only this time she completely forgot about the time, and when the clock began striking midnight, in a hurry she left the palace, having lost her shoe on the way. The prince found her, and ordered all the girls in the kingdom to try on a tiny shoe, but it only fit Cinderella. The prince recognized her at once, and soon a magnificent wedding of Cinderella and the prince took place in the palace.
Kindness, responsiveness, and the ability to forgive are some of the most wonderful qualities of a person.
A fairy tale teaches you to pay attention not to a person's appearance, but to his qualities and actions. Teaches you not to keep evil and forgive what can be forgiven.
Cinderella's kindness, her patience and ability to forgive served her well - she was at the ball, where she met the prince and became his wife. It's good that the fairy tale had a good ending.
I really liked how the fairy came to the aid of Cinderella and conjured a beautiful dress and a carriage for her. Thanks to the good sorceress, her life changed for the better, and she became the wife of a prince.

Hardworking and kind Cinderella lives with her father, stepmother and stepsisters, the cruel stepmother loads the girl with work and does not care about her. When guests gather in the palace for a ball, the stepmother gives Cinderella a lot of work. But at that moment the fairy godmother appears and helps the girl go to the royal palace, but warns that she must return by 12 o'clock.
The prince, of course, was carried away by the sweet girl, and she forgot about time. At 12 o'clock her elegant dress turned into a poor one, the carriage, coachman and footmen disappeared. Therefore, I had to urgently run away from the holiday, leaving a crystal shoe on the stairs. With this shoe, the prince finds the girl and takes her as his wife.
There are many similar stories about a compassionate and patient girl who did not become embittered by the trials that fell to her lot, but remained just the same sweet and sympathetic. This is probably why fate rewarded her, unlike her cruel stepmother and stupid and rude sisters.
